Alicia Silverstone has written/signed a letter via PETA to Russian president Putin requesting vegan food for Pussy Riot, the female punk band that were arrested after a protest in a cathedral in Moscow. Here’s an article about how the vegan member of the band Maria Alekhina collapsed during the trial as apparently they were not given food during the 12 hour court sessions and barely slept or ate for 48 hours.
